KNOWING GOD – THE GOD OF MIRACLES || Lesson 12

KNOWING GOD – THE GOD OF MIRACLES – Lesson Twelve

KNOWING THE GOD OF MIRACLES AS THE UPRIGHT ONE:

Isaiah 26:7 – The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, you make the way of the righteous smooth.

Psalm 25:8-98Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. 9He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Psalm 92:12-1512The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15proclaiming, “The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

The following passages show the blessings and privileges which ensue from knowing THE UPRIGHT ONE and from being upright.

2 Samuel 22:26 (KJV) – With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, [and] with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

Psalm 7:10 – My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.

ShieldNIV note: Or sovereign

Psalm 15:1-2 (NKJV)1LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

Psalm 19:13 (KJV) – Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Psalm 32:11 – Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!

Psalm 33:1 – Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

Psalm 37:14-1514The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. 15But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.

Psalm 37:18 (KJV) – The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

Psalm 37:37 – Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.

Psalm 49:14 – Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.

Psalm 64:10 – Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; let all the upright in heart praise him!

Psalm 97:11 – Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.

Psalm 112:4 – Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.

For the gracious and compassionate and righteous manNIV note: Or / for the Lord is gracious and compassionate and righteous

Psalm 125:4 – Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart

Psalm 140:13 – Surely the righteous will praise your name and the upright will live before you.

Proverbs 2:7, 217He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

21For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;

See also Proverbs 10:9, 29 (KJV); 11:3, 20 (KJV); 14:11; 15:8; 28:6, 10 (KJV).

Ecclesiastes 7:29 – This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes.”

Example of an Upright ManJob 1:1, 81In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.

8Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

Job 2:3 – Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”

Compare: Job 8:6if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your rightful place.  See Job 42:10-15 for the fulfillment of this.

Job 12:4 (KJV) – I am [as] one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright [man is] laughed to scorn.

Mocked As Jesus was: See Matthew 27:27-31, 39-40, 41-44.

The just upright [man is] laughed to scornAs Jesus was: Matthew 9:24 (KJV) – He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

ApplicationLet us thank THE UPRIGHT ONE for Galatians 3:14 – He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
